Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro
The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is receiving a major software update in China, bringing a host of new features focused on health tracking, fitness enhancements, and overall user experience. The update is based on HarmonyOS 6.0 and introduces meaningful upgrades such as nap tracking, new watch faces, and smarter notification management.
Huawei has also refined several existing features, including payment functionality and sports modes, making the wearable more capable for everyday use as well as fitness tracking.
One of the most notable additions is the new nap summary feature. This tool allows the smartwatch to track shorter sleep sessions, including afternoon naps that last 30 minutes or longer. It then generates a personalised rest report, giving users a better understanding of their overall sleep patterns beyond just nighttime sleep.
In addition, Huawei has expanded its health and training insights. The watch now differentiates between aerobic and anaerobic training loads and provides optimal load ranges to help users maintain effective workout intensity.
Huawei has introduced a new animated watch face called Dance Queen. This watch face supports customisation and includes interactive animations that respond to user actions such as tapping the screen, playing music, or charging the device.
These additions aim to make the user interface more engaging while offering more personalization options for users who like dynamic visuals on their smartwatch.
The update also brings running power monitoring, a feature designed to help users better manage their energy during workouts. With this, runners can monitor their power output in real time and adjust their pace accordingly for improved efficiency and performance.
Professional training data has also been upgraded, with performance prediction now included in average pace metrics during workouts.
Huawei has made several improvements to the golf mode as well. The course mode now supports multiple green views, customizable pin positions, and map rotation. A new competition mode has also been introduced, along with more detailed statistics such as triple bogey and albatross records.
These changes aim to provide a more comprehensive experience for golf enthusiasts using the smartwatch.
The update also improves integration between the smartwatch and smartphone. Users will now receive notifications on their phone when the watch battery is low or fully charged, even when the watch is not being worn. A new control switch also allows users to get alerts about their phone’s battery level directly on the watch.
On the payments side, Huawei has enhanced the Alipay Tap-to-Pay experience. Users can now view the payment amount on screen and complete transactions without needing additional confirmation, making the process faster and more convenient.
The latest update for the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is currently rolling out in China. A wider global rollout timeline has not yet been confirmed, but it is expected to reach more regions in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, users of the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 in global markets are also receiving a separate update that introduces additional golf-related features.
