10000mAh Batteries
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly developing a new lineup of smartphones focused on battery performance. According to recent leaks, the company could introduce three new models featuring massive 10,000mAh batteries. These devices are also tipped to support fast charging speeds exceeding 100W.
The upcoming smartphones are said to be part of the Redmi Note and Redmi K series. However, the company has not officially confirmed any details regarding these devices so far.
As per the tipster, these upcoming Redmi smartphones may set a new benchmark in battery capacity. That said, this would not be the first time a smartphone brand has crossed the 10,000mAh mark. Honor previously launched a smartphone in December 2025 under its WIN series featuring a 10,080mAh battery.
In India, large battery smartphones have already made their debut. Realme introduced the Realme P4 Power 5G and Realme Narzo Power 5G with 10,001mAh batteries, both supporting reverse charging. Meanwhile, Redmi’s current highest battery offering is the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which packs a 9,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The upcoming models could surpass this figure.
The Redmi K series is typically limited to the Chinese market, whereas the Redmi Note series often sees global launches with some specification changes. In several cases, Redmi K series devices are rebranded and launched in Asian markets under the POCO brand. This suggests that some of the upcoming models could eventually make their way to markets like India.
Fitting a 10,000mAh battery inside a smartphone was previously a challenge, but advancements in Silicon Carbon battery technology have made it more feasible. Traditional lithium-ion batteries use graphite, whereas silicon can store more energy.
By combining silicon and carbon, this technology improves battery stability while enabling higher capacity without significantly increasing the device’s size or thickness.
Due to these advancements, smartphones with 6,500mAh or 7,000mAh batteries no longer feel significantly bulkier than older 5,000mAh devices. Battery technology is evolving rapidly, and 5,000mAh is gradually becoming the baseline standard.
Apart from Samsung and Apple, most smartphone brands are now focusing on delivering larger batteries in their devices. This trend indicates that even higher capacity smartphones could be introduced in the future.
Redmi’s upcoming 10,000mAh battery smartphones could bring a significant shift in the battery segment. However, there is no official information yet regarding their launch timeline or availability.
If you are currently looking for a smartphone with strong battery life, devices like the OnePlus Nord 6 or Realme’s recent power-focused models may be worth considering. Alternatively, those willing to wait might find Redmi’s upcoming offerings more compelling.
