Redmi K Pad 2 was launched in China on Tuesday as the company’s latest compact tablet offering. The tablet is currently up for pre-order in the country through the Xiaomi online store and is available in multiple configurations.

The price of Redmi K Pad 2 starts at CNY 3,399 (roughly Rs. 47,000) for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at CNY 3,799 (approximately Rs. 52,000). Meanwhile, the top-end model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage carries a price tag of CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs. 66,000).

The tablet is offered in Deep Black, Electric Purple, and Space Silver colour options.

Redmi K Pad 2 Specifications, Features

The Redmi K Pad 2 runs on Xiaomi’s Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out-of-the-box. It sports an 8.8-inch 3K (3,008 x 1,880 pixels) LCD display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR, and delivers up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness. It also offers a pixel density of 403ppi, a touch sampling rate of 1,080Hz, and a stylus response rate of 240Hz. For durability, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and comes with TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free viewing, and circadian rhythm friendliness.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 3nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset with a peak clock speed of 4.21GHz. It is paired with a Mali G1-Ultra GPU and a MediaTek 990 NPU. The device packs up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 onboard storage.

For optics, the Redmi K Pad 2 features a single 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it houses an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.28 aperture for selfies and video calls. The tablet supports video recording at up to 4K resolution at 30fps.

The device is backed by a 9,100mAh battery with support for 67W wired fast charging. It also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual USB Type-C ports.

Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and a hall effect sensor. The tablet measures 204.98×133.73×6.62mm and weighs approximately 345 grams.
