Redmi Buds 8 Launch Set for April 21; 50dB ANC, 11mm Drivers Teased Ahead of Debut

Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of its upcoming Redmi Buds 8 true wireless earbuds, which are set to be introduced in China on April 21. The company will unveil the earbuds alongside the Redmi K90 Max smartphone and the Redmi K Pad 2 tablet. Teasers shared on Weibo have already revealed the design and some of the key specifications of the earbuds ahead of launch.

Redmi Buds 8 specifications

  • 50dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with up to 4kHz coverage
  • 11mm dynamic drivers
  • In-ear design
  • Compact, round charging case
  • Colour options: Black, light muted green, grey
  • Map-based find feature

The Redmi Buds 8 will come equipped with up to 50dB active noise cancellation, which is claimed to reduce ambient sounds such as background chatter and traffic noise effectively. The earbuds are said to offer ANC coverage up to 4kHz, enhancing overall noise suppression.

For audio performance, the earbuds will feature 11mm dynamic drivers, which the company claims will deliver improved sound quality. The earbuds adopt an in-ear design, while the charging case is compact with a rounded shape for easy portability.

Additionally, Xiaomi is introducing a map-based find feature, allowing users to locate misplaced earbuds conveniently.

Additional details

The Redmi Buds 8 are expected to be positioned below the Buds 8 Pro. The Pro variant offers up to 55dB ANC and a triple-driver setup, making the Buds 8 a more affordable alternative with slightly toned-down specifications.

More details, including pricing and availability, are expected to be announced during the launch event on April 21.
