Huawei Pura X Max Launched with 50MP Camera, 5300mAh Battery and Wide-Fold Design

The foldable smartphone segment is expanding rapidly, and Huawei has introduced its first wide-folding device, the Huawei Pura X Max, in China. The device brings premium hardware, a large foldable display, and a focus on camera performance.

Price and availability

The Huawei Pura X Max has been launched in multiple storage variants.

The 12GB + 256GB model is priced at CNY 10,999 (approximately ₹1,50,000), while the 12GB + 512GB variant costs around ₹1,64,000. The 16GB + 512GB model is priced at about ₹1,77,000, and the top-end 16GB + 1TB variant goes up to nearly ₹1,91,000.

The smartphone will go on sale in China starting April 25 and will be available in Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, Phantom Black, Vibrant Orange, and Zero Degree White color options.

Display and design

The Huawei Pura X Max features a 7.7-inch LTPO 2.0 flexible OLED inner display with a resolution of 2584×1828 pixels and up to a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

It also includes a 5.4-inch external OLED display with up to 3500 nits peak brightness. The wide-fold design gives it a different form factor compared to conventional foldables.

Performance and software

The device is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset and runs on HarmonyOS 6.1.

With up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage, the Huawei Pura X Max is positioned as a high-end device suitable for heavy multitasking and performance-oriented usage.

Camera setup

On the camera front, the smartphone offers a triple rear setup. It includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 12.5MP ultra-wide camera.

For selfies and video calls, it features dual front cameras—8MP sensors on both the inner foldable display and the cover screen.

Battery and additional features

The Huawei Pura X Max is equipped with a 5300mAh battery, supporting 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

Additional features include IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and connectivity options such as 5G, Bluetooth 6, dual-band Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C.

Overall positioning

With its wide-fold design, powerful camera setup, and premium specifications, the Huawei Pura X Max targets the high-end foldable segment. While its pricing places it in the premium category, it offers a distinct alternative to traditional foldable smartphones.
