
Vivo has introduced the Vivo Y6 5G in China, expanding its Y-series portfolio shortly after unveiling the Vivo Y6t 5G model. The newly launched handset is currently listed on the company’s official China website and is offered in Galaxy Silver, Phoenix Gold, and Obsidian Black colour options.

The Vivo Y6 5G sports a 6.75-inch LCD HD+ display with a resolution of 1,570 x 720 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is said to deliver up to 1,200 nits peak brightness and 1,000 nits brightness in professional mode. It also includes features such as global DC dimming, AI-based sleep mode for colour temperature adjustment, anti-fatigue brightness control, and an eye protection mode. The display is TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified.
Under the hood, the handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, built on a 4nm process. It runs on Android 16 with OriginOS 6 on top. The phone offers up to 12GB of LPDDR4X dual-channel RAM, along with support for up to 12GB of virtual RAM expansion, and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.
For optics, the Vivo Y6 5G is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary rear camera that supports up to 10x zoom. The rear camera module also houses an LED flash, infrared remote control functionality, and a breathing light. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with up to 2x zoom support.
The device is backed by a 7,200mAh Blue Ocean battery, which is claimed to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to 40°C. Vivo states that the battery is designed to last up to six years with 1,600 charge cycles. It also includes features such as a healthy charging algorithm, 24-hour recharge protection, and direct drive power supply for stable performance during charging.
The smartphone supports 44W wired fast charging and also offers OTG reverse wired charging support.
Additional features include IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, SGS Gold Label 5-star certification for drop and shock resistance, and a one-click dust and water removal function that uses vibration to clean the speaker grille.
