The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced Team India’s home schedule for the 2026-27 season, promising an action-packed calendar across formats.
India will play a total of 22 matches at home, including Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, against teams like West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Australia.
In a major boost for fans, the schedule includes nine One-Day Internationals (ODIs), where Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are expected to play a key role.
Both players have stepped away from other formats and are now focusing primarily on ODIs as they prepare for the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
India’s home ODI season will begin with a three-match series against West Indies, followed by similar three-match series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
These matches will be played across multiple venues including Trivandrum, Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
This structured schedule ensures consistent match exposure for senior players and helps the team build momentum ahead of major ICC tournaments.
With the 2027 ODI World Cup approaching, the BCCI’s scheduling strategy clearly emphasizes the 50-over format.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two of India’s most experienced players, are expected to anchor the batting lineup and provide stability as the team prepares for the global event.
Their participation in all nine ODIs will be crucial for team combination, form, and leadership continuity.
Apart from ODIs, the home season will also feature five Test matches, including the high-profile Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, and eight T20 Internationals.
This balanced schedule reflects BCCI’s approach to maintaining competitiveness across all formats while prioritizing long-term goals.
With matches scheduled across multiple cities, fans in different parts of the country will get the chance to watch top international cricket live.
The presence of star players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in nine home ODIs is expected to significantly boost viewership and stadium attendance throughout the season.
