Samsung has officially expanded its One UI 8.5 Beta program to more Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 lineup, marking a significant step in its Android 16 rollout strategy. The update, which was initially limited to newer flagship devices, is now being tested on a broader range of smartphones.
The move highlights Samsung’s evolving software approach, as it aims to bring flagship-level features to slightly older premium devices earlier than before. Reports suggest that the beta rollout is expected to reach users in key markets such as India, the US, South Korea, and parts of Europe via the Samsung Members app.
One UI 8.5 introduces a range of upgrades focused on productivity, personalization, and AI integration. Samsung has emphasized a smoother and more intuitive user experience across its ecosystem.
Some of the major features include improved Quick Panel customization, allowing users to add, remove, and rearrange toggles more freely. Enhanced AI-powered tools like Photo Assist enable smarter and continuous photo editing without interruptions.
The update also brings better device management, improved security, and refined design elements, including a more responsive interface and enhanced one-handed usability.
A major highlight of One UI 8.5 is its deeper integration of Galaxy AI. Features such as intelligent suggestions, real-time assistance, and advanced photo editing aim to simplify everyday tasks.
Samsung is also improving its ecosystem connectivity with features like Storage Share, enabling seamless file access across multiple Galaxy devices. Additionally, upgrades to the Bixby assistant are expected to make interactions more natural and context-aware.
While the beta program is expanding, the stable One UI 8.5 rollout is expected to begin in phases starting March and April 2026. The Galaxy S25 series is likely to receive the update first, followed by the Galaxy S24 lineup shortly after.
Samsung’s roadmap indicates that older devices, including the Galaxy S23 and select A-series models, will receive the update in subsequent months, with a full rollout expected by mid-2026.
The expansion of the One UI 8.5 Beta program to the Galaxy S24 series signals Samsung’s commitment to faster and broader software updates. By bringing advanced AI features, improved customization, and performance enhancements to more devices, the company is strengthening its position in the Android ecosystem.
For users, this means earlier access to cutting-edge features and a more refined smartphone experience, even on devices that are not the latest flagship models.
