Redmi K90 Max Launching April 21 with 165Hz Display, and Hardcore Gaming Focus

Redmi is gearing up to unveil its next performance-focused smartphone, the Redmi K90 Max, as part of its K90 lineup. The device is expected to debut in China on April 21, bringing a strong emphasis on gaming, battery life, and display technology.

The Redmi K90 Max is rumored to feature a large 6.83-inch M10 display with an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Designed with gamers in mind, the display is said to support up to 160fps gameplay across more than 40 games, along with an impressive 3,500Hz touch sampling rate for ultra-responsive input.

To handle intense gaming sessions, the smartphone will likely include a dual-core air cooling system for improved thermal management. On the audio front, Redmi is expected to equip the device with Bose-tuned symmetrical stereo dual speakers, enhancing the overall multimedia experience.

Under the hood, the Redmi K90 Max may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, offering flagship-level performance. One of its standout highlights could be a massive battery exceeding 8,000mAh, making it ideal for extended gaming and heavy usage.

The company has already started pre-reservations for the device in China, and teaser images have been shared via the popular Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. The phone is expected to be available in multiple color options, including silver.

For context, last year’s Redmi K90 Pro Max featured a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ support. It was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and packed a triple rear camera setup with three 50MP sensors, including a periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The device also offered a 7,560mAh battery with 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 22.5W reverse charging support.

With the Redmi K90 Max, the brand appears to be pushing the boundaries further—especially in battery capacity and gaming performance—making it one of the most anticipated launches in its segment.
