nubia V80 Max
nubia has formally introduced its newest smartphone, the nubia V80 Max, aiming to deliver a blend of durability, long battery life, and smart functionality at an accessible price point. The official announcement highlights that this device is designed for everyday users who want a reliable phone that can handle daily use without breaking the bank.
At the heart of the nubia V80 Max is a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching around 780 nits. This combination promises smoother scrolling and better visibility in various lighting conditions.
One of the standout features of the V80 Max is its 6,000mAh battery, which nubia says is capable of powering users through a full day of calls, streaming, social media and light gaming without frequent recharges. The phone supports 22.5W fast charging, so users can top up quickly when needed.
Addressing the needs of users who want a phone that can withstand everyday bumps and slips, nubia has built the V80 Max with 1.8-meter drop resistance and an IP64 dust and water resistance rating. These durability enhancements have been tested to help protect the device against light splashes and accidental falls.
The flagship-style V80 Max is powered by an octa-core processor (details unspecified by nubia), paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. While not positioned as a high-end performance device, it’s designed to handle everyday tasks, web browsing, and popular apps with ease.
On the software side, the phone runs on Android 16 with nubia’s MyOS 16 interface, bringing a suite of smart features geared toward ease of use. These include AI Scam Alert to help filter unwanted calls and messages, One-Swipe AI Memory for quick access to important content, and creative tools that handle everyday digital needs.
nubia equips the V80 Max with a 50MP AI triple rear camera system, backed by a 16MP front camera—suitable for everyday photography and social media content. Other practical additions include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 200% volume boost speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and nubia Linkfree Bluetooth calling and messaging, which allows connectivity without mobile data in some scenarios.
The nubia V80 Max is launching first in the Philippines, where the 8GB + 128GB model is priced at ₱6,499 (about $115 USD at current conversion rates) during its launch period, with availability beginning January 23 through online retailers like Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop, as well as select physical stores.
Available in Black, Silver, Gold, and Purple finishes, the V80 Max targets users seeking long-lasting battery life and robust build quality without the premium price tag usually associated with rugged smartphones.
