Ustaad Bhagat Singh - Pawan Kalyan
Pawan Kalyan starrer Ustaad Bhagat Singh is witnessing a disappointing run at the overseas box office. Despite high expectations and a festive release window, the Telugu action-comedy has failed to attract audiences internationally. Facing stiff competition from Dhurandhar 2, the film’s performance has been underwhelming since day one.
As per reports, Ustaad Bhagat Singh has managed to collect only around 11 crore gross (approximately $1.17 million) in five days at the overseas box office. The film earned about $738K from North America, while the remaining collections came from markets like the UAE, the UK, and Australia.
These numbers fall significantly short of expectations, especially for a big-budget film featuring a star like Pawan Kalyan. The slow pace indicates weak audience interest and limited growth over the weekdays.
The film’s poor overseas run can largely be attributed to the massive dominance of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The Ranveer Singh starrer has been performing exceptionally well across international markets, leaving little room for other releases.
Interestingly, Yash postponed the release of his film Toxic to avoid a clash, which now appears to have been a strategic decision. However, Ustaad Bhagat Singh went ahead with its March 19, 2026 release and is now facing the consequences.
Another major factor behind the film’s poor performance is negative audience feedback. Mixed to unfavorable reviews have impacted footfall across key overseas circuits. The lack of strong content and engagement has further slowed down its momentum.
With weak word-of-mouth, the film has struggled to sustain even during the crucial first weekend, ultimately leading to its downfall in international markets.
Reportedly made on a budget of around 150 crore, Ustaad Bhagat Singh had an overseas breakeven target of approximately $3 million. However, with collections barely crossing the $1 million mark in five days, achieving this target now seems highly unlikely.
The film has already been labeled a complete washout overseas within its first week, marking a major setback for the makers.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh features an ensemble cast including Sreeleela, Raashii Khanna, and R. Parthiban alongside Pawan Kalyan. The film is directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
Released on March 19, 2026, the film aimed to capitalize on festive holidays like Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. However, stiff competition and poor reception overshadowed its potential.
