Aadu 3 - Jayasurya
Malayalam comedy drama Aadu 3 is steadily making its mark at the box office as the Jayasurya starrer has collected ₹32.25 crore by Day 6. Despite strong competition from big-ticket releases like Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the film has performed impressively, especially in overseas markets, and is now inching closer to the ₹100 crore global milestone.
Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, Aadu 3 opened on a strong note, collecting over ₹27 crore during its extended first weekend. However, like most films, it witnessed a noticeable slowdown during the weekdays.
On its first Monday, the film earned ₹3.30 crore, followed by ₹2.45 crore on Tuesday. With these numbers, the total collection has reached ₹32.25 crore by Day 6. The film is currently running across 1670 shows in India, though occupancy has dropped from over 70% during the weekend to around 30% on weekdays.
One of the key reasons behind Aadu 3’s success is its impressive performance in overseas markets, particularly in the Gulf region. With the absence of major competitors like Dhurandhar: The Revenge in that territory, the film has managed to attract a large audience.
This advantage has significantly boosted its global earnings, putting it on track to soon cross the ₹100 crore mark worldwide. If achieved, it will become the first Mollywood film of the year to hit this milestone.
The Aadu franchise has had an interesting journey over the years. The first film, Aadu, initially underperformed but later gained cult status through television reruns. Its sequel, Aadu 2, turned out to be a box office success.
Now, Aadu 3 builds on that legacy by bringing back its signature humor while introducing a unique time-travel twist, making it fresh and engaging for audiences.
Apart from Jayasurya, the film stars Sunny Wayne, Vijay Babu, and Vinayakan in key roles. Their performances, combined with the film’s quirky narrative and comic timing, have been well received by audiences.
The story blends comedy with a time-travel element, offering a fresh take while retaining the essence that made the franchise popular among fans.
With steady earnings and strong overseas support, Aadu 3 is now aiming to cross the ₹100 crore mark globally in the coming days. If the film maintains its pace over the second weekend, it could emerge as one of the biggest Malayalam hits of the year.
