Aadu 3 - Jayasurya
Jayasurya’s much-awaited film Aadu 3 is already making strong waves at the box office even before its theatrical release. Despite facing stiff competition from big-ticket films like Dhurandhar 2 and Ustaad Bhagat Singh, the Malayalam entertainer has carved its own space in advance bookings.
The film has quietly achieved a significant milestone, proving once again that strong regional content continues to dominate audience interest, even during major pan-India clashes.
With two days still left for its grand release on March 19, Aadu 3 has crossed the impressive mark of 100K tickets in advance sales on BookMyShow. This achievement makes it the 8th Malayalam film to reach this milestone since official ticket tracking began in August 2023.
This early momentum indicates strong audience anticipation for the film, especially among fans of the popular Shaji Pappan character.
With its current performance, Aadu 3 has secured a place among the top 10 Malayalam films in terms of advance bookings on BMS. It has surpassed films like Manjummel Boys and Alappuzha Gymkhana to claim the eighth position.
Here’s a look at the top Malayalam pre-sales performers:
L2: Empuraan leads with 1.33 million tickets, followed by Aadujeevitham: The GOAT Life with 309K. Malaikottai Vaaliban recorded 204K, while Turbo stands at 161K. Thudarum has sold 132K tickets, Aavesham 104K, and Marco 103K. Aadu 3 now joins the list with 100K tickets, pushing Manjummel Boys (84K) and Alappuzha Gymkhana (74K) further down.
March 19 is shaping up to be one of the biggest box office clashes of the year, with high-profile releases competing for audience attention. However, Aadu 3 has managed to maintain a solid hold in advance bookings.
The film’s consistent performance highlights the loyalty of Malayalam cinema audiences and the popularity of the franchise.
The big question now is whether Aadu 3 can translate its advance booking success into a strong opening day collection.
Currently, the top Malayalam opener of 2026 is Chatha Pacha, starring Roshan Mathew and Arjun Ashokan, with an opening of 3.4 crore. It is followed by Valathu Vasathe Kallan, which earned 1.1 crore on its first day.
Given its current momentum, Aadu 3 has a fair chance of challenging these numbers, but its final performance will depend on word of mouth and opening day occupancy.
Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, Aadu 3 continues the story of Shaji Pappan and his gang in a unique narrative that unfolds across two parallel timelines—past and present.
As secrets unravel and powerful enemies emerge in both timelines, the gang finds itself entangled in high-stakes confrontations. The blend of comedy, action, and fantasy elements is expected to deliver an engaging cinematic experience for audiences.
With strong pre-sales and growing buzz, Aadu 3 is all set to make a notable impact at the box office upon its release.
