Japanese automaker Honda is preparing to enter the Indian electric vehicle market with its first electric SUV. The company has officially started testing the upcoming EV on Indian roads, signaling a major step in its electrification strategy for the country. Once launched, the new electric SUV is expected to compete directly with popular EV models from Tata Motors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The testing program has begun from Honda\u2019s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. Under this program, the SUV will be driven across various road conditions across India to evaluate its real-world performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Engineers will test the vehicle on highways, city roads, and rough terrains to understand how well it adapts to Indian driving conditions. The concept version of this electric vehicle was previously showcased as Honda 0 \u03b1<\/strong> at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The current testing phase is believed to be part of the development process for the production version intended for the Indian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Takashi Nakajima, the public road testing program across India marks a significant milestone in Honda\u2019s electrification journey.
