Volkswagen is set to strengthen its premium lineup in India with the official price announcement of the Volkswagen Tayron tomorrow. Positioned as the German automaker’s new three-row flagship SUV, the Tayron aims to redefine the luxury SUV segment with its sophisticated design and powerful performance.
Bookings for the SUV have been open since February 5. Ahead of the launch, here is everything you need to know about this upcoming premium vehicle.
The Volkswagen Tayron will be offered in a fully loaded R-Line trim, featuring the brand’s latest global design language. Notable exterior highlights include:
Inside, the Tayron offers a sophisticated dual-tone black and beige cabin. Designed for families, it features three rows of seating. For those requiring extra luggage capacity, both the second and third rows can be folded down to create a massive flat storage area.
Volkswagen has equipped the Tayron with a comprehensive list of high-end features to compete with luxury rivals:
Under the hood, the Tayron is powered by Volkswagen’s tried-and-tested 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine.
The Volkswagen Tayron is expected to be priced between Rs. 48 lakh and Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will go head-to-head with established players like the Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and the MG Majestor.
The launch of the Tayron is just the beginning for Volkswagen in India. The company plans to follow this up with five more models in CY26, including much-anticipated facelifts for the Taigun and the Virtus.
