Although the Burgman 400 has been a staple in European and American markets for years, this marks its first official public appearance in India. True to the “Maxi” moniker, the Burgman 400 boasts a substantial body with a focus on ergonomics. The design is highlighted by sharp dual LED headlamps and a signature windscreen for wind protection during touring.
Practicality remains a priority, with the scooter offering massive under-seat storage (42 litres), front storage cubbies, and an integrated charging socket for mobile devices. Its safety suite includes the standard Anti-lock Braking System and Suzuki’s Easy Start system.
In international markets, the Burgman 400 is priced at approximately $8,949 (roughly Rs 7.5 lakh). Should Suzuki decide to launch it in India, it will likely arrive via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route to keep pricing competitive.
If launched, its most direct rival would be the BMW C400 GT, which currently retails at a premium price tag of approximately Rs 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
While Suzuki remains tight-lipped about an official launch date, the public debut in Mumbai serves as a strong hint that the Japanese manufacturer is ready to explore the performance-scooter territory.
