Nissan Gravite CNG Price: Launch Soon with Segment-First Dual Cylinder Tech

Following the successful launch of its petrol variants, Nissan India has confirmed that the Nissan Gravite CNG is set to debut shortly. This new variant aims to cater to budget-conscious Indian families looking for a 7-seater with incredibly low running costs.

The highlight of this upcoming model is the segment-first dual-cylinder CNG technology, similar to what we see in Tata’s latest cars. This setup ensures that, despite being a 7-seater, the Gravite retains usable boot space.

Expected Nissan Gravite CNG Price

While the petrol range starts at a highly competitive ₹5.65 lakh, the CNG variants are expected to carry a premium of approximately ₹90,000 to ₹1,00,000.

Variant (Expected)Ex-Showroom Price (Estimated)Estimated On-Road Price
Gravite Visia CNG₹6.60 Lakh₹7.45 Lakh
Gravite Acenta CNG₹7.55 Lakh₹8.52 Lakh
Gravite Tekna CNG₹8.90 Lakh₹10.05 Lakh

Note: The final price of the Nissan Gravite CNG will depend on whether Nissan offers it as a factory-fitted unit or a dealer-level fitment. Recent reports suggest a dealer-fitted dual-cylinder kit is already being prepared for immediate rollout.

Key Highlights: Dual Cylinder & Practicality

The biggest advantage of the Gravite CNG over rivals like the Maruti Ertiga is its packaging:

  • Twin Cylinder Setup: Instead of one large tank, two smaller cylinders are placed under the floor, freeing up space for luggage even when the third row is removed.
  • Engine Performance: It will use the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine, tuned to deliver high fuel efficiency. In CNG mode, it is expected to produce around 60–65 PS.
  • Transmission: Initially, the CNG option will be restricted to the 5-speed manual transmission to maximize efficiency.
  • Running Cost: With an expected mileage of 26–28 km/kg, the Gravite CNG will be one of the most economical family cars in India.

Features and Safety

Even in the CNG avatar, the Gravite will not compromise on safety or convenience. It will retain the standard 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Start Assist. Higher trims will continue to offer:

  • 8-inch Touchscreen with wireless connectivity.
  • Digital Instrument Cluster for real-time fuel data.
  • 8 AC Vents across three rows for effective cooling.

Competition

The Nissan Gravite price CNG strategy will directly challenge the Renault Triber (which is also expected to get a similar update) and provide a more affordable alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG and Maruti Eeco.
