KTM 390 Duke, KTM 390 Adventure
KTM has expanded its 390 lineup with the introduction of new 350cc variants of the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure, aimed at making the range more accessible. Unlike some other manufacturers that have replaced larger engines with smaller ones, KTM will continue selling the existing 399cc models alongside these new versions.
The KTM 390 Duke 350 has been priced at Rs 2.77 lakh, while the 390 Adventure 350 comes in at Rs 2.81 lakh (both ex-showroom). This makes them roughly Rs 62,000 more affordable than their 399cc counterparts, significantly lowering the entry point into KTM’s premium single-cylinder lineup.
Powering these new variants is a 349.32cc, single-cylinder engine producing 41.5 hp at 8,600 rpm and 33.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Compared to the 399cc motor, this represents a drop of 4.5 hp and 5.5 Nm. Despite the reduced output, KTM has retained all other key aspects of the motorcycles, ensuring a familiar riding experience.
Both the 350cc Duke and Adventure continue with the same wheelbase, ground clearance, chassis setup, and features, including the TFT instrument console and overall ergonomics. Visually and mechanically, apart from the engine, there are no notable changes.
KTM has also updated the naming of the 399cc models to differentiate them from the new variants. The 390 Duke is now referred to as the 390 Duke R, while the 390 Adventure lineup gets suffixes like S, X, and R depending on the variant.
The introduction of these 350cc motorcycles also brings them closer in price to the 250cc range, which could potentially impact the sales of the 250 Duke and 250 Adventure. With a relatively small price gap now, buyers may be tempted to upgrade to the more powerful 350cc models.
Overall, KTM’s move to introduce 350cc variants makes the 390 range more accessible to a wider audience. While there is a slight drop in performance, the significant reduction in price could make these new versions a compelling option for many buyers.
