BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro Launched in India: Range-Topping Petrol SUV Priced at Rs. 74.50 Lakh

BMW India has expanded its luxury SUV portfolio with the launch of the new X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro. Priced at Rs. 74.50 lakh (ex-showroom), this new variant takes the crown as the flagship petrol derivative in the X3 lineup. It sits Rs. 2 lakh above the xDrive 20 trim and is positioned on par with the diesel xDrive 20d variant.

With sharper aesthetics, more power, and enhanced technology, the X3 30 M Sport Pro aims to solidify BMW’s position against rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5.

Performance: The Quickest X3 in the Lineup

The highlight of this new variant is the punchy powertrain. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

  • Power Output: 258 bhp
  • Peak Torque: 400 Nm
  • Transmission: 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission
  • Drivetrain: BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system

Performance Stats: This range-topper can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds, making it the fastest variant currently available in the Indian X3 range.

Exterior Design: M-Specific Sporty Accents

The “M Sport Pro” badge brings several visual enhancements that give the SUV a more aggressive and sinister road presence:

  • Illuminated Grille: The new kidney grille features black inserts and an illuminated surround (BMW Iconic Glow).
  • Wheel Upgrade: It rides on larger 20-inch alloy wheels, replacing the 19-inch units found on lower trims.
  • Red Brake Callipers: High-performance M Sport brakes with striking red callipers are visible through the alloys.
  • Smoked Lights: Both the adaptive LED headlamps and the LED taillights receive a dark, smoked treatment exclusive to this variant.

Premium Interiors and Features

Inside, the X3 30 M Sport Pro offers a blend of sportiness and luxury. The cabin layout remains familiar but includes premium touches:

  • M-Specific Touches: The interior features M-branded seat belts and soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door pads.
  • Comfort & Tech: Powered front sport seats with ventilation and memory functions come as standard.
  • Sound Experience: A 15-speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound system ensures an immersive audio experience.
  • Key Highlights:
    • 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
    • 360-degree surround-view camera.
    • Three-zone automatic climate control.
    • Large panoramic glass roof.

Market Competition and Pricing

The BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro is locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai. At its price point, it competes directly with:

  1. Mercedes-Benz GLC
  2. Audi Q5
  3. Volvo XC60
  4. Lexus NX

On-Road Pricing (Estimated): While the ex-showroom price is Rs. 74.50 lakh, the on-road prices vary significantly across major cities:

  • Delhi: ~Rs. 82.39 Lakh
  • Mumbai: ~Rs. 85.68 Lakh
  • Bangalore/Hyderabad: ~Rs. 90.20 Lakh

With its combination of a powerful turbo-petrol engine, mild-hybrid efficiency, and “M” sportiness, the new X3 variant is a compelling choice for buyers looking for a performance-oriented luxury SUV.
